Cognitive Reductionism - What is it?

Cognitive reductionism is a program developed to offer an alternative to objectivist reductionism, albeit not necessarily an exclusive one. Objectivist reductionism explains phenomena in terms of objects, and those objects in terms of their parts. Cognitive reductionism explains phenomena in terms of the process by which information about it is gained, and the formats and methods by which it is represented. The key to understanding why the universe is the way it is, is not to be found in sub-atomic physics but rather in cognitive science.
